PASCO, Wash. — The Pasco Police Department will soon welcome two new K-9s to their team.

Officers Josh Madsen and Kevin Frantz are currently in California with their new dogs. They were sent to the state before the department stopped sending people out of state due to COVID-19 concerns.

The officers are at the dog training facility with the K-9s. Officer Josh Madsen will be with K9 Elan. Elan is a 14-month-old German Shepard from the Czech Republic. Madsen was K-9 Lemon’s handler, who passed away shortly after retiring. A month later, K-9 Hapo unexpectedly passed away.

Officer Kevin Frantz will be with K-9 Brit. Frantz recently became a K-9 officer. K-9 Brit is a 2-year-old German Shepard from the Czech Republic.

Both of the officers will be in California for at least two months to train with the K-9s, unless things change, the department said.

To keep up with the dogs during training and the other K-9s already on the force, Pasco Police have set up an Instagram for the dogs. The dogs are known for having their own hashtags such as #furmissle #PoundSignJucon and more!

To follow them on Instagram, just look up @dogsofpascopd.
