Pasco police look for credit card skimmer

Pasco police are looking for a man that has been stealing money with credit card skimmers and buying gift cards with the money at the Pasco Walmart.

Officials said the man is getting credit card numbers, transferring the numbers to another card with a magnet strip and then using them to make purchases.

At Walmart he bought $200 worth in gift cards, making the transactions in the self-checkout line.

PPD said it is investigating eight transactions made by the man on Thursday.

The victim who had their money stolen may have used a skimmer at a gas pump on Columbia Center Boulevard on Wednesday.

A skimmer is a device that attaches to the front of an ATM or a card reader that usually fits over the slot you put your card into, but if you look closely it does stick out further.

If you see a skimmer, police said you should leave it and call 9-1-1.

The man tries to hide his features, but is described as age 25 to 30-years-old, with a light complexion, slim build and clean shaven with no visible tattoos.

If anyone recognizes the person in the photo above, call Pasco police.
