Pasco schoolchildren, passerby stumble upon a dead body
PASCO, Wash. — Police officers and detectives began a death investigation after schoolchildren and a passerby reported seeing a dead body along the 600-block of W Yakima St near Sylvester Park on Monday morning.
According to a Facebook post by the Pasco Police, the report came in around 6:45 a.m. on the morning of June 14. Investigators have observed that there does not seem to be any foul play involved in the death, but local authorities are looking into it thoroughly to be absolutely sure.
Pasco Police took this as an opportunity to clarify their roles and how these incidents are reported. Typically, police respond to all sorts of deaths including those that occur outside of direct medical supervision or hospice care. With that in mind, they will not be providing additional details.
Local authorities alerted the Pasco School District to this morning’s events. The school district is making counselors available to the affected children so they have an outlet to talk through what they’ve experienced.
Anyone with additional information to contribute is urged to reach out to the Pasco Police Dispatch at (509) 628-0333 about case 21-17015 Death Investigation.
