Pendleton man dies after jumping into traffic

PILOT ROCK, Ore. – A Pendleton man jumped into oncoming traffic while walking along Highway 395 Saturday morning.

Police say Bradley Deshawn McMann, 23, intentionally jumped in front of a woman’s vehicle near milepost 14B at about 11:22 a.m. Interviews with witnesses and family members indicate it was a suicide.

Bystanders started performing CPR. He was later pronounced dead at the scene.

Kelly Rae Flanagan, 46, was driving a 2014 Ford Edge and was unable to avoid striking McMann, according to the Pilot Rock Police Department. She remained at the scene and was cooperative with authorities.

Oregon State troopers received assistance at the scene from Pilot Rock Police, Pilot Rock Fire, Pendleton Fire, Oregon Department of Transportation and Emergency Medical Services.
