Pendleton woman killed in ATV accident near Ukiah, deputies say

UKIAH, Ore. — A woman from Pendleton was killed Saturday in a crash while riding an ATV, according to a report issued Sunday by the Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office.

Lt. Sterrin Ward said in a news release that Jessica Whitney Ice passed away. She was 33 years old.

The deadly ATV accident reportedly happened in the area of Hideaway Springs Rd. east of Ukiah, a small community in Umatilla County.

“At about 3pm, Umatilla County Sheriff’s Dispatch Center received a call reporting two people injured in an ATV accident. Pendleton Fire and Ukiah QRT responded and medics on scene confirmed the operator of the ATV was deceased,” Lt. Ward said.

The operator, they say, was Jessica Ice. An ambulance took her passenger to Ukiah, where she was “Life Flighted by helicopter to St. Mary’s Hospital in Walla Walla, WA. She is reportedly in good condition.”

Oregon State Police Crash Reconstruction will investigate in an effort to determine how the crash happened, Lt. Ward said.
