(PHOTOS) Rep. Dan Newhouse visits Columbia Basin College’s Ironworks Apprenticeship facility

PASCO, Wash. – Rep. Dan Newhouse took a tour of the Columbia Basin College Ironworkers Apprenticeship facility on Tuesday morning.

Newhouse met with students to discuss how the program is preparing apprentices for the workforce in the Tri-Cities and throughout Washington state.

There are currently 118 students in the program.

Newhouse is also expected to attend and be a keynote speaker at a naturalization ceremony in Richland at the U.S. Federal Building at 825 Jadwin Avenue starting at 10 a.m. on Tuesday.

34 local immigrants from 16 different countries – including Burma, Canada, Chile, China, Colombia, Cuba, Hong Kong, India, Iraq, Mexico, Philippines, South Korea, Thailand, United Kingdom, Ukraine, and Zimbabwe – will become U.S. citizens.
