Police departments recruiting officers in the Tri-Cities
WEST RICHLAND, Wash. — Edwardo Magana has worked as a West Richland Police Officer for the past two years, his badge a symbol of the love and dedication he has for his job and community.
“I became a police officer because I wanted to help people. I know that’s the cookie cutter answer to that question but I truly did,” said Magana.
The West Richland Police Department is comprised of 16 officers, and is recruiting for more. Magana saying he chose WRPD for the close community.
“The West Richland community has helped us in every way. “We can’t be everywhere at once and we depend on them to do our job.”
Police departments all over the Tri-Cities are currently recruiting officers, including Kennewick, Richland, and Pasco.
Magana working as an example of what being a police officer means. He said he cannot imagine doing anything else.
“We’re just like anybody else, said Magana. “We love the job… you have to love the job to do it.”
