Police investigate hit and run near Kamiakin High School
KENNEWICK, Wash. — The Kennewick Police Department is investigating a hit and run after a driver crashed into railroad crossing gates and left the scene near Kamiakin High School.
The crash happened Sunday at the BNSF railroad crossing near N Edison St. and W Metaline Avenue.
Kennewick Police say the driver collided with the crossing gates, making them inoperable.
The Kennewick Police Department said BNSF crews would be working for several hours to fix damaged property.
As of early Monday morning, all BNSF crews had left the scene.
Police say they were unable to locate the driver that ran from the crash.
