Police: Teen tries to smash deputy’s patrol car with cinder block

Police arrested a Kennewick man who allegedly tried to break an off-duty deputy’s patrol car window with a cinder block.

The deputy’s marked Franklin County Sheriff’s Office patrol car was parked in his driveway when 18-year-old Jordan Blum approached it Monday around 3:30 p.m.

Kennewick Police said the deputy was informed of the crime and confronted Blum, who allegedly took a bicycle from the deputy’s driveway and fled.

The deputy caught him just a few blocks away as he tried to flee.

He’s been charged with malicious mischief.
