Police: Walla Walla man caught driving stolen truck had warrants in 3 states
PASCO, Wash. — A Walla Walla man is in jail after lying to police and trying to run away in a stolen pickup.
An officer spotted Robert Glen Rupert, 51, driving a truck in Pasco with Idaho license plates and expired tags. When the officer pulled him over at about 1:25 a.m. Monday morning, the man provided a false name.
Rupert tried to run and was caught outside the Rodeway Inn at 1520 N. Oregon Street in Pasco. After being arrested there, police found he had numerous arrest warrants in three different states.
The truck he was driving belonged to a company in Idaho. It was also full of company great and confirmed stolen later that day.
He was booked into Franklin County Jail for felony possession of a stolen vehicle along with several misdemeanors that include lying, trying to evade police, driving without a license and other outstanding warrants.
