Portion of S.R. 821 to close Saturday for Yakima River Canyon Marathon
SELAH, Wash. — Part of State Route 821 will be closed to all vehicles on Saturday for the 17th annual Yakima River Canyon Marathon.
The section of the road that goes along the Yakima River will be closed from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
It will be closed on between Thrall Road north of the canyon entrance and the bus turnout just north of Sundown M Ranch. Vehicles trying to travel through this part of the road will be turned away, the Yakima Herald-Republic reports.
Recreationists and canyon residents will be able to get a special pass that allow access to the area.
Washington State Patrol will enforce a 25 mile per hour speed limit on S.R. 821 during the marathon.
