Prosecutor: Alcohol Contributed to June 10th Shooting Death in Pasco

Franklin County Prosecuting Attorney Shawn Sant has ruled a shooting in June is justified.

In the early morning hours of June 10th, Travis Yeates tried to get inside the home of Corey Chapman on Austin Drive in Pasco.

Sant released today that Yeates was drinking heavily and thought the home belonged to a friend.

Yeates first knocked on the front door, then got into the house through the garage door. He came face to face with the resident, Chapman.

Chapman shot him, fearing for his life after Yeates lunged at him.

Sant says this is the second example in two years of a homeowner shooting and killing a drunk intruder.
