Bean, the pug, poses for a mugshot after police in Cape May, N.J., found the stray wandering along city streets on July 15, 2018.

A New Jersey pug is readjusting to life on the “outside” again after being released to her owner.

Bean, the pug, drew national attention after the Cape May Police Department posted a mugshot of the dog to its Facebook page after they picked her up as she wandered alone in the city.

“This is what happens when you run away from home. This guy was captured sneaking through yards on the 1300 block of New Jersey Avenue,” police wrote alongside what they called the #pugmug, Newsweek reported.

Bean was then taken to a jail cell, but less than an hour later, police found her owner and she was released. The next day, Bean’s owner came back to pay the bail in cookies.

Cape May Police Chief Anthony Marino told the Daily Mail that Bean was very friendly during her brief stay and followed an officer around the station.
