PASCO, Wash. — The Tri-Cities’ big annual sci-fi/fantasy convention kicks off Friday at the Pasco Red Lion.

RadCon is a nerd-friendly, weekend-long event that hundreds of people of all ages attend each year to dress up in costumes, play games, attend panels, check out artwork and vendors and socialize.

There will be a fire show on Saturday night featuring martial artists, dancers and entertainers. There is also a dance party on Friday and Saturday night.

Dozens of people will be speaking at RadCon, including four guests of honor — voice actor Robbie Rist, atmospheric scientist Dr. Susannah Burrows, writer and game narrative designer Monica Valentinelli and artist Cheyenne Wright.

The event goes from Friday to Sunday. Admission is $50 for the entire weekend. Children 12 and under are free with an adult.
