Ranger taking photos with python narrowly escapes strangulation

A forest ranger in West Bengal narrowly escaped being strangled by a python while he posed for photos with it Sunday.

The BBC reports Sanjay Dutta was called upon by villagers to save a goat from an 18-foot python. After he rescued the goat from the snake, he wrapped the reptile around his neck and posed for villagers’ photos. The animal tried to strangle Dutta as he held it.

Dutta, with the help of villagers, struggled to free himself from the snake’s grip, but ultimately escaped the situation unharmed.
