Registration open for socially distanced ‘Reading on the Run’ fundraiser
KENNEWICK, Wash. – The Children’s Reading Foundation of the Mid-Columbia (CRFMC) and the Hapo Community Credit Union announced the second annual Reading on the Run fundraiser.
The socially distanced poker run will go from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on April 24th, a news release said.
Participating families will join a drive-thru poker run to local businesses across the Tri-Cities while trying to collect the best hand of cards.
The winner with the best poker hand will win $400 dollars but participants can also win instant prizes as well from supporting businesses including two $50 cash prizes, the release said. Baskets will also be raffled away at the end of the event.
All proceeds of the fundraiser will go toward “supporting the purchase and distribution of books for vulnerable children across Benton and Franklin Counties to stop the Summer Slide, the slide of literacy skills that occurs each summer,” a news release said.
Online registration is open until April 21st or you can register the day of at the HAPO building on Clearwater in Kennewick, the release said.
One raffle ticket is $5 dollars or you can buy five tickets for $20 dollars. Onsite scorecards will be $20 each.
