Rep. Newhouse hosts annual Higher Education and Job Training Expo in Yakima
YAKIMA, Wash. — U.S. Representative Dan Newhouse (R-WA) hosted the fourth annual Higher Education and Job Training Expo on Saturday at Yakima Valley College.
The free event was open to all students and locals from the Yakima Valley. Students were able attend to different sessions such as Financial Aid 101 and Help Navigating College Admission.
Rep. Newhouse said the expo is aimed to help students see all of career opportunities available for them.
“I just want to make sure people know what we have here and all the things they can potentially open up new doors and career paths,” said Rep. Newhouse.
Some of the schools and organizations that participated were Army ROTC at Eastern Washington University, Art Institute of Seattle, Heritage University, Washington State Patrol and the Yakima County Sheriff’s Office.
