River of Fire Festival returns to Columbia Park with fresh attractions

River of Fire

KENNEWICK, Wash. — Each year, community members from across the bi-county region gather along the Columbia River and its many parks to watch stunning fireworks displays on the Fourth of July. The most prominent of the bunch—the River of Fire Festival—is spicing up the celebration with fun for all ages.

The River of Fire Festival, which is presented by Gesa Credit Union, will take over a stretch of Columbia Park for Independence Day. This year, everyone in the family can have a blast between the kids zone, beer garden, ‘Food Truck Alley,’ and live entertainment from “Stomping Ground” and “Fast Lane.”

Public parking will open up at Noon on the Fourth of July and festivities will begin at 2:00 p.m. However, the actual fireworks display won’t launch from the barge until approx. 10:00 p.m. that night.
