Seattle Beer Week featuring its first Yakima Valley beer
YAKIMA, Wash. — The 9th annual Seattle Beer Week is kicking off next Tuesday and one Yakima brewery is about to become the first in the Valley to create an official beer for the event.
Bale Breaker Brewing Co.’s brand new Fresh off the Farm IPA was brewed at the center of a hop field just minutes from downtown Yakima. A keg of the local brew will be tapped at participating locations for the beer week’s opening ceremony on May 4 at 5 p.m.
The Bale Breaker Team will be at 21 events in the Seattle area throughout the week from May 4 to May 13. The brewery was founded by fourth-generation hop growers.
Seattle Beer Week is among the top three beer weeks in the country based on originality of events and the number of participants.
