Second suspect arrested in sexual abuse of a Kennewick juvenile
KENNEWICK, Wash. — Earlier today, the Kennewick Police Department announced the arrest of 38-year-old Bret Emineth, who is accused of sexually abusing a juvenile girl over a number of years. This evening, local law enforcement announced that the suspect’s girlfriend has also been arrested for her part in this sexual abuse.
According to a press release issued by Kennewick police, detectives resumed their investigation by holding a second interview with the victim on Tuesday.
She alleged that 35-year-old Malesa Hale, Emineth’s girlfriend, took part in the abuse. Officers contacted Hale and booked her into the Benton County Jail for the alleged crime of ‘Rape of a Child in the Third Degree,’ per the KPD.
The victim came forward to local police on Monday to inform them of her experience. She had an extensive interview with Kennewick police investigators, which led to Emineth being booked into the county jail for ‘Rape of a Child in the Second Degree.’
Authorities received a search warrant and explored his apartment on the 2000-block of W 2nd Ave to locate evidence of the crime. Given the nature of the crime, all defining information about the victim is being withheld from the public.
