Semi-trailer full of berries destroyed in blaze on I-90
MOSES LAKE, Wash. — A semi-trailer full of berries went up in flames on Interstate 90 west of Moses Lake Friday morning.
Trooper John Bryant said the semi was disabled on the side of the road about 16 miles west of Moses Lake when it caught fire.
The Washington State Patrol responded to the scene at about 5:50 a.m.
The driver quickly separated the tractor from the trailer before the fire spread throughout the cargo. Nobody was hurt.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. Bryant said the fire was likely caused by an electrical or mechanical issue.
Bryant said he did not know what type of berries the semi was hauling because they burned up very quickly. He said the trailer was fully loaded at the time.
