Septic truck crashes into utility pole in Pasco
PASCO, Wash. – There was a ‘stinky’ situation in Pasco on Friday morning.
According to Sergeant Rigo Pruneda with the Pasco Police Department, a septic truck crashed between 4th Avenue and Frontage Street in Pasco around 7:25 a.m.
Sergeant Pruneda said the driver, who was cited for driving too fast for conditions, lost control due to slick conditions and crashed into a utility pole. The driver was not injured.
The photo above was taken by Josh Murphy of Sierra Electric and appears to show the sewage leaking, but Sergeant Pruneda emphasized that the liquid coming out of the truck was not feces – just water.
Franklin County PUD is currently on the scene attending to the power pole damage.
Roads have been slick according to local authorities. Trooper Chris Thorson said 35 crashes were reported in the Tri-Cities since the snow started falling on Thursday.
Trooper Thorson asks that drivers be careful and slow down on icy roads.
