YAKIMA, Wash. — Multiple vehicles, including a police car, were involved in a collision at a busy intersection in Yakima, which forced law enforcement and emergency responders to close all lanes of the prominent roadway Thursday night.

According to a social media post by the Yakima Police Department, a “major collision investigation” was launched when at least three vehicles collided at the intersection of E Nob Hill Blvd & S 1st St on the evening of Friday, Sept. 16, 2022.

It’s unclear how many vehicles were fully involved or how many people were injured, but the investigation and wreckage forced authorities to close all lanes at the intersection. In turn, all community members were asked to take alternative routes as evening commuters made their way home from work.
