Skateboarder hospitalized after being hit by car in Walla Walla

Public meeting held to discuss adding EMS levy to August ballot

WALLA WALLA, Wash. — A woman was hospitalized after being hit by a car while she was riding a skateboard in Walla Walla Friday morning.

Police say 19-year-old Chase McClurg was riding a skateboard southbound in the roadway on North Second Avenue near the Highway 12 underpass when she was hit by a soundbound car around 6:15 a.m. She was taken to the hospital by ambulance.

The driver was identified as 63-year-old Paul Winters. He was driving a Hyundai Santa Fe.

The roadway was restricted for about three hours while authorities investigated. The Washington State Patrol assisted at the scene.

McClurg’s condition is unknown at this time.
