Snoqualmie Pass and Stevens Pass both closed Tuesday
I-90 is estimated to reopen in both directions at 3 p.m. Tuesday.

WEDNESDAY UPDATE — U.S. 2 Stevens Pass reopened at 9 a.m.
US 2 Stevens Pass has reopened with chains required. That means if you are AWD/4WD you still need to carry chains in case you need them. Never used your chains? Practice before you head up the pass. Drive for conditions and give plenty of room to the car in front of you. pic.twitter.com/DfVWPwpUTb

U.S. 12 White Pass, the only other route through the Cascades, could not handle the traffic if all drivers looking to go from eastern Washington to Western Washington or vice versa were to come over from I-90 and U.S. 2, according to WSDOT.
Consider delaying your trip today. US 12/White Pass is open but cannot handle higher traffic volumes. We are still waiting on a Snoqualmie Pass update. https://t.co/AJfBheX12k

Again, if you can avoid traveling US 2 Stevens Pass, we encourage it. It’s very challenging conditions, vehicles are struggling & we expect increased traffic with @SnoqualmiePass closed. If you can’t avoid, be sure you’re ready for potential delays/closures. pic.twitter.com/FKfl9US6Up
