Snow arrives tonight into Saturday
It’s a dry, but a very cold start to the morning with temperatures in the single digits and teens. Most of the day will be dry with a few snow flurries from time to time, highs in the low 30’s. Starting after 11PM tonight snow will be developing across the area. Snow will continue through 6 or 7AM Saturday morning in the Columbia Basin before changing over to a wintry mix. Snow continues to fall in the Yakima and Kittitas Valley throughout the morning. Turning drier by noon into the afternoon with only a flurry or a shower leftover. Highs on Saturday will be close to 40 degrees.
How much snow is expected?
Columbia Basin (Tri-Cities): 1″ or less
Foothills of the Blues: 1 to 2″
Yakima/Kittitas Valley: 1 to 3″
Eastern Slopes: 6 to 12″
Cascades: 12 to 24″
Back to a dry day Sunday with plenty of clouds, highs in the low 40’s. Next week will be a bit warmer with afternoon temperatures by Wednesday in the upper 40’s. A few rain showers will be possible both Tuesday and later in the day on Thursday.
