Southridge High seniors expelled after vandalizing Kennewick High
KENNEWICK, Wash. — The Kennewick School District has confirmed that 18 Southridge High School seniors have been ’emergency expelled’ after vandalizing Kennewick High School.
Kennewick police are investigating the vandalism that happened Wednesday night. They say the teens had originally planned to pull a prank at their own high school, Southridge, but got caught by security. That’s when they went to Kennewick High School and found an unlocked door into the gym and the Lion’s Den.
Police say the teens “made a mess” inside the gym but nothing was damaged.
No arrests have been made but information has been given to the prosecuting attorney. The teens could be facing charges of trespassing and malicious mischief.
The district would not state whether the students would be allowed to walk in graduation or not.
