SR 17 is back open after being shut down by rock slide
MESA, Wash. – State Route 17 is back open near Mesa for the first time since April 16, when a rockslide shut down a portion of the highway.
On Monday, the Washington State Department of Transportation said contracted work crews spent the weekend clearing about 4,000 cubic yards of debris off the highway.
S.R. 17 was previously closed between Highway 395 and State Route 260. The road will be reduced one lane of alternating traffic on Tuesday between 7 a.m. and 2 p.m. so crews can finish repairing guardrails.
