Still No Ruling On If The Attorney General Has A Case Against Arlene’s Flowers
All parties were in the courtroom today arguing the case concerning Arlene’s Flower shop.
The judge said he will still not make a ruling today on whether the Attorney General’s case against the owner should be dropped.
The defense is arguing the Attorney General does not have the legal jurisdiction to file a consumer protection lawsuit against shop owner Baronelle Stutzman.
Before the hearing began hundreds of people gathered in front of the Benton County courthouse to show their support for Stutzman.
Many of the signs had messages about the freedom of religion and dislike for the Attorney General’s involvement in the case.
The courtroom was packed and standing room only spilled out into the hallway.
Judge Alex Eckstrom said he wants to continue to review all documents before making a decision.
