Stolen Kennewick truck recovered from river near Bateman Island

RICHLAND, Wash. — A stolen truck from 2016 was recovered from the river Monday afternoon near Bateman Island after being buried in three to four feet of mud, according to the Benton County Sheriff’s Office.

The Benton County Sheriff’s Office says a boater observed what he thought was a truck on his sonar near a boat launch in Richland.

The Columbia Basin Dive Rescue team responded to search the area.

The dive team found the truck around 100 feet from shore and buried three to four feet deep in mud, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

The Benton County Sheriff’s Office says the truck was reported stolen in 2016 out of Kennewick.
