Students Design, Test Robots in Lego Competition
Hundreds of students from schools in Eastern Washington and Northeast Oregon tested out their science and engineering skills today in the ninth annual First Lego League Tri-cities regional tournament.
The teams, which consisted of 9 to 14 year olds, each designed and programmed robots over the last few months.
Those robots were judges by experts in the field and were run through a series of obstacles, like kicking a soccer ball through a net, to see just how many they could successfully complete.
Eleven teams from today will advance from the regional tournament to the Eastern Washington state tournament January 17.
