(AP) - A 16-year-old has pleaded guilty as an adult to second-degree murder.The Skagit Valley Herald reports that Cristian Alexander Quijas was 15 when he shot and killed 16-year-old Angel Estrada in Burlington, Washington, on March 30, 2017.According to state law, 16- or 17-year-olds charged with qualifying violent offenses, including murder, are automatically charged as adults.

Man pleads guilty to killing fellow tribal member on Umatilla reservation

PENDLETON, Ore. - A Pendleton man has pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in the shooting death of another tribal member that took place on the Umatilla Indian Reservation.The East Oregonian says the crimes were charged in federal court because they took place on Indian lands and the men involved were Confederated Umatilla Tribes members.
