Plane from Guantanamo Bay skids into St. Johns River in Florida

Investigators have recovered the undamaged flight data recorder from the military-chartered passenger plane that slid off a runway in Jacksonville, Florida, and into the shallow part of the St. Johns River while landing Friday night, NTSB Vice Chairman Bruce Landsberg said Saturday at a news briefing.

Ex-Gitmo commander charged with interfering in death probe

A former commander at US Naval Station Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, was arrested in Jacksonville, Florida, on Wednesday and charged with obstruction of justice, concealment, falsifying records and making false statements during an investigation into the death of a civilian worker who drowned near the base in 2015.
