Three Arrested in Connection to Mail and ID Theft in Cle Elum area

Kittitas Couty Sheriff’s Office executes search warrants and makes arrests in connection with a Narcotics and Fraud operation in the Cle Elum area.

Over the past few days Kittitas County Sheriff’s Deputies served search warrants on two hotel rooms and vehicles at a hotel on West 1st Street in Cle Elum. The search warrants resulted in the recovery of stolen mail and documents intended to be used for identity theft and fraud. The warrants also resulted in the seizure of burglary tools, check making supplies, check washing supplies and equipment, stolen checks and illegal drugs. The investigation also lead to the arrest of 28 year old Christopher Thimsen of Cle Elum on outstanding warrants and the seizure of $570 in cash related to drug sales. The investigation is continuing and more arrests and criminal charges related to this incident are expected.
