SNOQUALMIE, Wash. — The Washington State Department of Transportation is advising drivers to have traction tires if they’re going through Snoqualmie Pass.

Currently, it’s snowing and there’s slush on the roadways. Chains are required for all vehicles going east, except for those who have all-wheel drive. Going west, only tractions tires are advised at the moment. Snow is expected through the rest of the day, according to WSDOT.

Light snow is also being reported on White Pass. The same restrictions apply there.

Over at Stevens Pass, chains are required on all vehicles except four-wheel drive. Compact snow and ice are on the roadway and it’s snowing lightly. Drivers should check WSDOT’s website for the latest restrictions.
