Tri-Cities first Popeyes set to open off U.S. 395 in Kennewick

KENNEWICK, Wash. — The newest fast-food chain coming to the Tri-Cities is Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen, known for crispy fried chicken and the coveted chicken sandwich that sent waves across the country in 2019.
Established at 240 N Ely St in Kennewick, the restaurant is located off W Clearwater Ave and Vista Way along one of the busiest intersections in Kennewick. There are parking spots available in the lot with a drive-thru that can accommodate at least six cars.

Popeyes is set to open by August 4, according to a sign that was posted on the restaurant’s front door as of July 25.
Previously, the Popeyes location closest to the Tri-Cities was in Sunnyside—just under 50 miles away from the new restaurant. Otherwise, the next closest options in the Northwest include Portland, Seattle and Northern Idaho.
While training their new staff, Popeyes offered free lunches including chicken and other menu items for officers at the Kennewick Police Department.
