Tri-City Youth Soccer Association donates $4,000 to athletes college education

Tri-City Youth Soccer Association (TCYSA) announced its $4,000 scholarship donation to help two athletes continue their college education Friday.

Whalen Real Estate Owner Christopher Whalen has also been coaching with TCYSA. He wanted to partner with the soccer organization to make a difference so he donated $2,000 toward the cause.

Two lucky former or current TCYSA soccer players will be selected to receive the scholarship money. Each player will be chosen by a group of community members and will receive $2,000 toward their college education.

TCYSA scholarship applications will be released on its website in January. Players who are interested will have to submit an essay to be considered.
