Two dogs found dead in Yakima house fire

Man arrested on suspicion of causing College Place fire

YAKIMA, Wash. — Two dogs were found dead in a two-story house that caught fire Tuesday night in Yakima.

The Yakima Fire Department said the fire started in the 1700 block of Gilbert Rd. while the occupants were away. The front of the house was completely engulfed in flames.

Crews responded at about 6:40 p.m. and put out the flames. The front of the house was completely destroyed with smoke and heat damage throughout the building.

The estimated dollar loss is $75,000.

The East Valley Fire Department’s Rehab Unit assisted by providing air, water and food for firefighters.
