Two families displaced from their homes after early morning fire in Richland

The call came in to Richland Fire Department just after midnight, with a report of a fire in the back of a home on Boulder street.

RICHLAND, WA– Two Richland families have been displaced after two house fires early Wednesday morning, Aug. 24.

Officials say the call came in to the Richland Fire Department just after midnight. The caller reported a fire in the back of a home on Boulder Street.

When crews arrived, the fire had extended and two houses were on fire.

The fire was knocked down just before 3 a.m. But, fire crews remained on scene to put out hotspots.

Everyone got out of the homes safely. The Red Cross is aiding in finding temporary shelter for the families involved.

Investigators are working to find the cause of the fire as of Wednesday morning.
