Two people shot in Toppenish, suspect arrested

Two people were shot in Toppenish on Monday evening.

According to Sergeant Jason Pepper, around 7:30 p.m. police got word of a gunshot victim in the 900 block of West 1st Avenue.

Tribal police officers found the victim who was then taken to the hospital.

Toppenish PD officers found the suspect vehicle speeding away and stopped them.

A 26-year-old Grandview man was arrested.

Several hours later, deputies got a call from the hospital about another gunshot victim from the same incident.

Both victims are expected to survive.

The incident is under investigation by the Yakima County Sheriff’s Office, Toppenish PD, and Tribal PD.
