UPDATE: Firearms recovered from vehicles involved in Sunday gang fight in Walla Walla

Richland Police Investigating Report of Shots Fired

Detectives have recovered a sawed-off shotgun and handgun from vehicles involved in the gang fight in the Walla Walla Farmers Co-op convenience store parking lot Sunday morning. One firearm was found in each of the vehicles driven by the rival gang members. The vehicles were impounded after they were attempting to leave the area after the fight.

Detectives also recovered knives during their search, one of which is believed to have been used to stab 20-year-old Johnny Gonsalez in the eye during the confrontation. Gonsalez is facing felony charges for Assault 2nd Degree.

Recovery of the weapons could lead to additional charges or enhanced sentencing upon conviction.
