(VIDEO) Manton Way Fire grows to 5,000 acres near Mesa
MESA, Wash. — Firefighters are battling a 5,000 acre wildfire burning along Highway 395 between Mesa and Connell.
They estimate the fire is 30% contained.
The fire broke out on Monday afternoon around 1 p.m., and initially forced a closure of southbound lanes. Those closures have since been lifted.
No homes have been damaged.
Heavy winds throughout the day are expected to impact the growth of the fire today, according to firefighters.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
