(VIDEO) Teddy Bear Toss at Toyota Center brings in thousands of toys for local charities
The annual Teddy Bear Toss at the Toyota Center broke a record on Saturday.
Around 5,000 attendees showed up to the Tri-City American game with stuffed animals ready to throw after the Am’s scored their first goal.
Right on cue in the second period, teddy bears and stuffed animals were thrown from the bleachers to the ice.
The Toyota Center announced the record-breaking accomplishment – 4,920 stuffed animals tossed.
All the toys will be donated to local charities through the Mid-Columbia.
The Tri-City Americans were less fortunate with their score — losing to the Portland Winterhawks 8-1.
