Wa-Hi Dance Team takes 4th in state championship
WALLA WALLA, Wash. — Walla Walla High School’s dance team took 4th place at the WIAA State Dance Competition over the weekend.
The Blue Devil ladies competed against 19 other teams at the state championship. They were led by coaches Emma Eskil and Merrit Morris, both Wa-Hi graduates.
It was the first time the high school’s dance team made it to state since 2014.
“This great group of young ladies worked extremely hard over the last six months and their effort paid off,” said Athletic Director Dirk Hansen.
Members of the community will have a chance to see the dance team perform on Mar. 30 and 31 at 7 p.m. in the Walla Walla High School Auditorium. The Nights of Dance show will be open to the public.
Funds raised by the show will go toward the school’s dance team.
