Walla Walla’s Crime Prevention Coordinator Wins Award

Vicki Ruley, Crime Prevention Coordinator for the Walla Walla Police Department, was awarded the Crime Prevention Practitioner of the Year award by the Washington State Crime Prevention Association, during a special ceremony at Seattle Children’s Hospital.

Ruley has worked in crime prevention for the past 16 years at the police department. The award recognizes her efforts for her involvement in many programs to include Operation ID, National Night Out, Crime Free Rental Housing, Block Watch, Workplace Violence training, Prescription Take-back Day/Shred Event, and many others.

Ruley’s supervisor, Captain Terry Heisey, stated “Vicki has a sincere passion for crime prevention; and helping citizens in our community to understand what they can do in order to reduce the likelihood they will be victimized. Her energy and enthusiasm is the driving force behind our successful crime prevention efforts.”
