Washington parents find pins in children’s Halloween candy
(Omak Police Department)

The Omak Police Department has received two separate reports of pins found in Halloween candy.

In both incidents, parents reported finding small pins in boxes of ‘Nerds’ their children had received while trick-or-treating within city limits.

The top of the pin, in both cases, matched the color of the candy in the box. A similar pin was reportedly found inside the packaging of a small ‘Snickers’ bar.

Omak’s Police Chief Jeff Koplin says the department is taking the situation seriously. He urges parents to inspect all of your children’s candy, and its packaging, very closely. If you find anything suspicious, please contact police immediately.

More information will be released as it becomes available.
