Washington patient with possible coronavirus released from Harborview


KING COUNTY, Wash. – Harborview Medical Center discharged a person with possible coronavirus Friday morning.

According to UW Media Relations Director Susan Gregg, on Wednesday afternoon Harborview admitted the patient who was being evaluated for possible coronavirus and other respiratory illnesses.

The patient was isolated in satisfactory condition, as of Wednesday.

That person was discharged from Harboview Friday morning and is receiving home monitoring by Seattle & King County Public Health, according to Gregg.

Seattle and King County are still waiting to receive the patient’s test results from the CDC.

In a separate case, a Washington man was the first to contract the virus in the United States.

U.S. officials stress that they believe the virus’ overall risk to the American public remains low.
