1. Renewed: “American Horror Story”

Announced: Aug. 3, 2018

Ahead of Seasons 8 and 9 even hitting the air, FX announced that it had ordered a 10th season of the anthology series “American Horror Story.” This likely will extend the show to run at least through 2020.

2. Canceled: “The Dangerous Book for Boys”

Announced: Aug. 1, 2018

Amazon put “The Dangerous Book for Boys” back on the shelf by announcing that the children’s fantasy series will not have a second season on the streaming service.

3. Renewed: “Love Is_”

Announced: July 31, 2018

OWN has renewed this series, based on the life of writer-director couple Mara Brock Akil and Salim Akil, for a second season, ahead of its Season 1 finale.

4. Renewed: “Better Call Saul,” “Fear the Walking Dead,” and “McMafia”

Announced: July 28, 2018

AMC announced pickups for three of its series at July’s Television Critics Association presentation. The “Breaking Bad” prequel “Better Call Saul” and “The Walking Dead” offshoot “Fear the Walking Dead” will receive fifth seasons. “McMafia” received an order for Season 2.

5. Renewed: “Sneaky Pete”

Announced: July 28, 2018

Amazon announced that it has ordered a third season of the assumed-identity drama “Sneaky Pete.”

6. Renewed: “Altered Carbon”

Announced: July 27, 2018

Netflix has ordered a second season of the sci-fi series “Altered Carbon,” albeit with an alteration of its own: Anthony Mackie will assume the lead role of Takeshi Kovacs from Joel Kinnaman. No word yet on whether other roles will move to other actors, as consciousness-shifting is in the realm of possibility in the “Altered Carbon” world.

7. Renewed: “Condor” and “You Me Her”

Announced: July 27, 2018

The Audience Network extended two of its series. The drama “Condor” will return for Season 2, and the romantic comedy “You Me Her” received orders for a fourth season as well as a fifth.

8. Renewed: “Good Witch”

Announced: July 26, 2018

Shortly after the conclusion of Season 4, the Hallmark Channel announced that the supernatural comedy/drama “Good Witch” will return for a fifth season.

9. Renewed: “You”

Announced: July 26, 2018

How hot is super-producer Greg Berlanti? His Lifetime scripted series “You,” detailing the exploits of a tech-savvy twentysomething to woo the woman of his dreams, was renewed for a second season before Season 1 started on Sept. 9.

10. Renewed: “The Affair”

Announced: July 26, 2018

The end of “The Affair” is coming, but not immediately. As Season 4 of the Showtime drama winds down, the network announced that it has ordered a fifth and final season of the series.

11. Renewed: “Yellowstone”

Announced: July 24, 2018

The Paramount Network has renewed Kevin Costner ranch-hand drama “Yellowstone” for a second season, hitting the airwaves in 2019.

12. Renewed: “The Man in the High Castle”

Announced: July 21, 2018

While premiering a date-announcement video for Season 3 of “The Man in the High Castle” at San Diego Comic-Con, Amazon Studios also announced that the dystopian/alternate-America series was renewed for a fourth season.

13. Renewed: “Wynonna Earp”

Announced: July 21, 2018

Shortly into Season 3, Syfy renewed this series for Season 4, it announced at the show’s San Diego Comic-Con panel.

14. Canceled: “Colony”

Announced: July 21, 2018

Days before the Season 3 finale of “Colony” was set to hit the air, USA announced that it would serve as the series finale for the apocalyptic drama.
