Wide Hollow Elementary Gets Honored For Second Year In A Row

The awards continue to pile up for the West Valley School District and especially Wide Hollow Elementary, which has been named a 2014 School of Distinction.

The award is for schools that are one of the five percent highest improving schools in the state.

The 2014 award was for increased reading and math scores over the past five years.

“It’s absolutely a team effort and it takes everybody in the system; the staff, the students, and the legion of volunteers to make it a reality,” said principal Jake Hall

The school won the award last year as well– Hall is in his second year as principal but says he inherited a school in which students were already excelling.
