Winter weather advisory issued for Yakima, Kittitas valleys. Heavy snow likely in Cascades
The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory for the Yakima Valley, Kittitas Valley and the eastern slopes of the Cascades.
The advisory will be in effect for the Yakima and Kittitas valleys from midnight to 3 p.m. on Saturday. Two to four inches of snow accumulation are possible.
The eastern slopes of the Cascades are expected to get six to 12 inches of snow with more than a foot at higher elevations. Traveling through the passes could be very difficult to impossible
The forecast is showing an inch of accumulation or less in the Columbia Basin, including the Tri-Cities area, and one to two inches are possible in the foothills of the Blues.
